INSTALLATION - Trained operatives will adhere the shock pad to the surface using a beaded system to ensure absorption of run-through of moisture to the sub-surface. The shock pad is then covered with a porous adhesive and the Centrecourt Pro Porous Acrylic Sports Coating is applied with a Putzmeister or similar device. In order to obtain an even finish, the coating is applied in two separate applications thus ensuring consistency of both performance and appearance. The two applications are undertaken in opposite directions to ensure a complete coverage of the surface and prevent any “shadows” forming. The second application can only be made when the first application has dried sufficiently to take foot traffic.

This application technique ensures the surface maintains a high degree of permeability.

BASE - On a newly prepared base it is vital that sufficient time elapsed to ensure it has undergone its normal curing process.

COVERAGE - The amount of concentrate material applied varies between 0.65 – 0.75 Kg/m2. The actual amount of material applied depends upon the coarseness of the substrate.

DRYING TIME - Under optimum drying conditions the coating will have gelled in less than 30 minutes. The actual drying time is dependent on many factors including, temperature, humidity, wind speed etc.

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS FOR INSTALLATION - The coating is capable of curing at temperatures as low as 5°C, however caution should always be exercised when installing at low temperatures or damp conditions. The material should not be applied if there is an expectation that the temperature would fall to 0°c before the material has cured or there is a risk of rainfall, fog or dew coming into contact with the uncured material. The material should be stored above 0°C. A minimum of 72 hours curing should be allowed for before playing on the finished surface. This time may be significantly extended if the weather conditions are less than ideal. The correct application and application rate is important to ensure a consistent performance from the surface; both over-spray and under-spray will result in a significant impairment to the performance of the surface.

Solvents or any solvent containing products should not be used on this surface.

COLOURS - Currently the product is available in 3 shades of Green, 1 of Red, 2 of Blue and 1 of Tan.

MAINTENANCE - The longevity of many surfaces is as much related to the adoption of good maintenance procedures as it is to the product installed. The coating produces a relatively maintenance free surface, however the removal of dirt, leaves and other organic matter is vital not only to preserve the porosity of the surface but also to prevent a “greasy” film forming on the surface that inevitably will impair the slip resistance. Detritus also acts as an abrasive significantly reducing the lifetime of the surface.

Sweeping, vacuum cleaning or pressure washing are all techniques that will help maintain the characteristics of the surface for a significant period of time.

The life span of the surface will also be affected by the conditions of use. For example, the correct use of footwear, prevention of skateboards, bicycles and rollerblades on the surface.
